Only What You Can Carry
A downloadable game
Over the course of the last hundred thousand years, our ancestors have found and stolen more loot than you can poke a stick at. Big loot, small loot, fancy loot, practical loot, loot used for looting other loot, and loot melted down and made into new loot.
Like any society driven by loot, these ancestors have been pretty stingy in the redistribution of said loot. Some of them want to take it with them to the next world where they can live an afterlife surrounded by their loot and continue to loot more loot in eternity. Some felt that the intergenerational distribution of loot was likely to create successive generations of wastrels without the drive to get loot that they displayed. Some consider their loot too dangerous to be let loose on an unsuspecting public. While others are just regarded as pricks.
Regardless of their reasons or rationales, these pricks have stashed this loot in various holdouts, safehouses, mines, pits, labyrinths, and contraptions. This becomes a bit of a problem over time as the loss of productive assets become a dead weight on the economy. Thus, it is almost a public service to crack open those baubles and let flow the riches within.
Build your crew, find a target, go looting, return with fame and fungible assets! But remember: take only what you can carry.
