About Party Favour
1932. The Great Depression. Reactionary New Guardsmen battle Workers Defence Corps volunteers on the streets of Sydney. In the halls of power, Premier Lang is locked in a deathmatch with that lickspittle of English Banking, Prime Minister Lyons. In poverty row shoeless children rummage for scraps while their fathers walk the hungry mile, begging for a day’s work from the Princes of Capital.
The General Secretary has requested you locate a missing group of staunch comrades who were tasked with liberating resources necessary to establishing a revolutionary Soviet of New South Wales. A Cthulhu scenario for 3 to 5 fellow travellers.
Set in the midst of economic and political crisis in Sydney Australia, Party Favour explores the fight between revolution and reaction through the frame of a classic noir investigation. Written for three to five Investigators, this scenario is flexibly designed and can be played as a convention game, one-shot, or longer adventure, and includes a range of options for developing the scenario in new and complex ways.
Complete with five pre-generated Investigators and 17 handouts and props, Party Favour is a scenario that explores a fascinating, if not well known, period in interwar history.
The core 54-page scenario with an additional set of easy to print handouts in both Australian (A3 and A4) and North American (letter and tabloid) sizes. A text only version of the scenario is provided, and handouts include plain text versions for readability.
The scenario includes contextualising information about the period for players who wish to know more about the backdrop and significance of the setting.
